Natural landscape in Mandarin Oriental Sanya
The landscape of the resort with all the plants and the laberynth of pools set into it is absolutely stunning. you could easily swim to a spot in the shade under one of the palm trees at any time, -an important design feature. The temperature controlled infinity pool was amazing, with a nice breeze and a zen view of the South China Sea. Other than in Thailand it is probably one of the most beautiful resorts I've ever been to, you really feel like you are somewhere exotic & can really wind down. Breakfast was great and you could roll up at 10.30 and casually take stuff and the staff would leave everything out for you -no panic rush to clean up. With their variety of fruits yogurts & greek salads and cold cuts & the nice expresso the nice girl made for me everyday, it very often turned into a lazy brunch.. The evening bbq was good with surprisingly fantastic sushi, but a little excessive, most nights I would opt for the starters at Fresh, -awesome tuna & scallops etc. (and bread and butter) & listen to the cool Philippine band above at the bar. Thanks Alex on reception that help with anything super fast, but also I think some credit needs to go to the army of people taking care of this place that go quietly unseen, the gardeners, housekeeping I never saw or heard so nice, buggy drivers on demand etc. Cheers! They had a nice quiet fitness centre too to hide from the 2pm heat, oh, and the massage with the precious metal bowl, -unbelievable..

- I had a few requests before my stay and the customer service online was absolutely great - I was surprised in my room with balloons for my birthday and the hotel offered a cake and a bottle of champagne which was a very nice touch - Everyone is warm and welcoming as soon as you step foot on the property - The service is impeccable and all staff are friendly - The maintenance of the property is great, the property is covered in trees and vegetation and it’s very well taken care of - The location is secluded and quiet, giving a feeling of intimacy and peacefulness - The food is good - The room was very clean and greatly maintained - The management is very arranging if you have any requests or concerns - The different pools are very clean and not busy at all (at least during the time of my stay) - It’s a beautiful environment and property, felt like paradise - Special thanks to Mihai, Nicole, July and Ben

The expectations of the Mandarin Oriental were by far exceeded. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and quick when asked for support or to provide some information, The English speaking proficiency was very good, most of the associates could speak English in a way that we could communicated easily. The SPA experience was great. The ambience lovely, the staff friendly and everything very clean. The big choice of wonderful pools with different charming aspects has over exceeded our expectations. The quality of food, e.g. our Christmas dinner, was worth every RMB and was a great value for money. The ambience of the Sunset Bar including the great and very delicious cocktails gave us a very nice sun downer every day. Our summary: we will come again this year, please stay as you are!

Once we moved from a Hillside room to the Ocean side we were very satisfied with our room and the facilities are excellent. We got exceptional service from Make at breakfast, he remembered our routine which was a really nice touch. The gym, leisure centre and spa are all excellent. Alex and Lily on reception were very helpful, as were all of the staff generally.

Oliver

The pool though there are two and the other was under maintenance. The breakfast buffet is awesome! The Cantonese hainanese restaurant was also very good. The snorkelling was quite nice too as the hotel has a protected coral beach - though a bit costly. In the general area very nice resort setup and not too inconvenient to get into town via taxi.
